Sunday, October 30th

Hi everyone,

This SUnday all youth will attend the service. The guest speaker is Nic Cable, a UU seminarian. I heard he is really wonderful and am looking forward to the service myself!

Acts of Faith: Interreligious Engagement as Spiritual Practice
"Unitarian Universalists are theologically diverse. Every church is unique, every person is unique. How do we understand, value, and participate in interreligious engagement, both as individuals and as a collective faith tradition? In this sermon, drawing from the work of Eboo Patel's book on Acts of Faith, we will begin to unpack these questions. Patel's book is this year's UUA Common Read. It offers us an opportunity to reflect on our origins and identity as a religious people, and consider which direction we would like to head in the 21st century."

See you Sunday!

Sunday, October 16

Hey everyone,

Thank you so  much for your enthusiastic participation in last weeks chapel service. It went really well and I have you to thank!!

This week we will be watching an episode of 30Days on Immigration. Here's the blurb... "Frank George is a member of the Minutmen, a citizens' volunteer group that patrols the country's borders. Like all Minutemen, Frank holds staunch anti-illegal views, as he and his family legally immigrated from Cuba to Miami when he was 7 years old. He will live with a Mexican family of mixed status in a one-bedroom apartment in Los Angeles." Come ready to watch and join in some lively discussion. We will then make an exciting announcement!

Also please add any last minute ideas to our brainstorming sheets. I will be taking them down after SUnday and working with YAC to plan the years calendar!

See you Sunday!

Sunday, October 9th

Hi Everyone,

This Sunday you will attend the first part of church with your family for a special Time For All Ages. Then as high school youth you have two options; you can stay in the service or you can return to the RE Building and join my chapel service. I would like for the senior youth to be "Worship Buddies" for some of the younger children. I suppose a third option would be to stay home, sleep in and catch up on homework- but I really hope you will come. This Time For All Ages is what I see you all helping with as part of your worship componant and the Chapel Service could be run by you as part of your leadership/worship componant (so can being a worship buddy) (Imagine a little peanut wanting to come to church each week because they want to see their big kid worship buddy). Hope to see you on SUnday! Don't forget your Con stuff!!
